Eliza

Eliza stumbled across aerial yoga while looking to recover from an injury caused by intensive dance training. The idea of defying gravity through yoga was novel to Eliza, so she attended her first class in 2019 out of curiosity. She has been practicing since, and now wants to share the joy and freedom of aerial yoga as an instructor.

Eliza found the sweet spot between dynamic movement and relaxation in aerial yoga. Some of the benefits she has reaped include an improved grip strength, stronger core and back muscles, and enhanced flexibility. Combined with the proper yoga breathing techniques, Eliza has mastered how to comfortably maintain poses while suspended in the air.

Since 17, Eliza has trained in a myriad of dance styles (including modern dance, street jazz, hip-hop, and pole), and performed at public concerts and events such as the ASEAN University Games opening ceremony. Eliza is aware of injuries caused by excessive practice and incorrect technique when training at high intensity and aims to translate this awareness into her teachings in aerial yoga so that we can practice safely and sustainably.

In the same way that she has choreographed a variety of dance performances, Eliza explores movement through aerial yoga with trapeze and silk hammock. She loves the strength and grace of aerial yoga poses, and the problem-solving to get into and out of them. When in doubt, she improvises. If you’re up for a challenge, Eliza is right there with you.
